Share the healing power of your certified therapy animal. Pet Therapy Volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and a joyful distraction to hospice patients and their families in homes or care facilities.

What You’ll Do:

Spend time with patients, offering comfort and companionship Participate in friendly visits with your certified therapy animal Follow a volunteer care plan agreed upon with the hospice team

Pet Qualifications:

·         Certified/registered therapy animal (most commonly dogs)

·         Up-to-date vaccinations (rabies & distemper) and health screening

Volunteer Qualifications:

·         Therapy animal/handler liability insurance coverage

·         Volunteer must be at least 18 years old with reliable transportation

·         Criminal background check, drug screening & TB test
